Minecraft is a popular name for adventure lovers that needs no introduction now. In Minecraft, ranks are special tags that help identify and provide several perks, like cosmetics, bonuses, etc. There are numerous ranks in Minecraft with different font styles and textures, making each stand out separately from the others. 

Currently, many Minecraft players want to add custom rank textures on their servers to look exciting and different. The resource packs allow players to moderate rank textures, models, fonts, etc. without modifying the code. 

For adding custom ranks, the Nautical Ranks has been a perfect resource pack for Java and Bedrock. Additionally, it works well with the Geyser without any plugins and cost. Here are the steps you should follow to add your custom textures in Minecraft using the Nautical rank.

Download Nautical Ranks V2

  • Visit here to download the ranks for Bedrock and Java.
  • On the page, you will have to download the Nautical-Ranks-V2-BEDROCK.mcpack and Nautical-Ranks-V2-JAVA.zip.

The Java file will be turned into the server resource pack, while the Bedrock will be used for the Geyser MC.

The rank textures are pictures, so you need one created for your custom rank.

Note: You can consider any program like Photoshop for creating the custom rank. For convenience, we are using a user-friendly program, Photopea.

You can create your rank texture according to your preference. If you already have one, you can open it in Photopea to make edits. Use the Brush tool, Layers menu, etc., to make necessary adjustments.

After you are done editing, go to the ‘File,’ ‘Export as’ and ‘PNG’, and save it.

  • Change the file extension to ‘.zip’ from ‘.mcpack.’
  • To unzip the file, right-click on it and select the ‘Extract All’ option.
  • Open the new Bedrock folder, which contains three folders: font, manifest.json, and pack_icon.png.
  • Open the font folder, where you will find two files: glyph_E2.png and glyph_E8.png.

  • Head towards Photopea and open the glyph_E8.png file.
  • Drag your already-created rank and place it accurately at the correct spot.
  • Download as a PNG file.
  • Go back to the font folder and replace the previous glyph_E8.png with the new file you saved.

Tip: You can make a shape between any two ranks (Admin & Moderator) to measure their distance. Use that shape to place your custom rank according to the other (Moderator) rank.

Go back to the font folder and replace the previous glyph_E8.png with the new file you saved.

  • Visit libglyph-mcbe website and upload glyph_E8.png file
  • To copy the symbol, click on the your rank column. (“0xE810”)
  • Go to the Bedrock folder and right-click on it to compress it to a zip file.
  • Change the file extension again to ‘.mcpack’ from ‘.zip”.

  • Double-click on the .mcpack file to import it into Minecraft Bedrock.
  • In the Minecraft world, go to the ‘Resource Pack’ tab.
  • Click on the ‘Activate’ button to activate the pack.
  • Join the world and go to the Minecraft chat.
  • Finally, paste the selected symbol to see your custom rank.
